Bus Transfers To and From Durban Airport

When arriving at King Shaka International Airport in Durban, South Africa, please remember to collect your luggage from the baggage claim area before proceeding to your chosen means of transfer from the airport. Available options include rental cars, shuttles and taxis.

There is no public transport available when transferring from or to King Shaka Airport, but there are shuttles available.

Shuttle Transfers at King Shaka Airport

There are a few companies officially offering their services in the form of shuttles to and from the airport.

The shuttles leave from outside the Internationals Arrivals area of the passenger terminal.

Airport Bus transportations depart the airport every 45 minutes from early mornings to late evenings every day of the week and it is possible to catch a bus without a booking. Tickets can be purchased on the bus.

A single ticket for an adult is approximately 80-90 ZAR from the airport to Durban.

Going to the airport may however require a booking so the driver knows where to collect the traveler.

The bus will drop off and collect travelers at a big variety of locations including all Durban hotels, city center, Durban beachfront, Sun Coast Casino, Durban Bus Station, Gateway Shopping Mall and many more.

Durban Bus Station is located just outside of the city center on 222 Umgeni Rd Stamford Hill just north of the central business district. From here it is possible to travel by coach or shuttles to a number of destinations in South Africa and the local area.

Some hotels in the Durban area offer a transfer service to their guests, usually for an additional charge, so their guests can move between the airport and the hotel conveniently and as hassle free as possible.
